Task 89 – SkyDive (Indoor or Outdoors)

(89) Sky Dive (Indoor or Outdoors)
Location: SkyDive Pepperell

After checking out SkyDive Pepperell and reading 5-star review after 5-star review I decided to go for it. So yesterday I purchased a Groupon to SkyDive from Groupon.

Don't ask me what I was thinking when I agreed to jump from a plane 13K feet in the air. All I can say is that I am very adventerous and I am going to hopefully have a blast. I won't be alone thankfully a bunch of freinds and family are going to jump with me and those that don't will be on the ground cheering us on. Can't Wait.

Worcester Economic Club: David Walker

Group:       Worcester Economic Club
Location:   Mechanic's Hall
Speaker:   David Walker

Last night I enjoyed cocktails and dinner at Mechanic's Hall prior to listening to the Worcester Economic Club guest speaker David Walker talk about today's economic situation and how we can fix it. It was a great speech and many interesting points were made. I will post audio of the speech soon.

David Walker is the former U.S. Comptroller General and now the Founder and CEO of the Comeback America Initiative. Mr. Walker served as U.S. Comptroller General and head of the Government Accountability Office from 1998 to 2008. Appointed by President Bill Clinton, his tenure as the federal government's chief auditor spanned both Democratic and Republican administrations. In 2008, Mr. Walker wass recruited by Peter G. Peterson to serve as President and CEO of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation. He served in that position until October 2010 and established his own venture, the Comeback America Initiative.

Task 33 – Catch 2 Live Sporting Events (Celtics vs. Lakers)

(33) Catch 2 Live Sporting Events (1/2)
Event:          Boston Celtics vs LA Lakers
Location:     TD Garden

Last night my brother and I went to the Boston Celtic’s / LA Laker’s game. I scored great seats in one of the luxury boxes and I am convinced that it is the only way to go to the games unless you are court side. Those courtside seats though are reserved for celebrities like Patriot’s owner Bob Kraft and a few of his players like Rob Gronkowski, and Vince Wilfork. The box was catered and the food was average at best but it was unlimited beer and food so I couldn’t really complain.
Both teams entered the game with 14-11 records and the area was packed. It didn’t look like there was a seat to be found anywhere. The game was low scoring for both teams who seemed to have trouble shooting the ball it was evenly matched. The big point scorer of the night was LA Laker Kobe Bryant with a 27 point total followed by his fellow teammate Pau Gasol with 25 points. The biggest scorer for the Celtics was Kevin Garnett with 23 points. The scores stayed tight the entire game and ultimately it ended in an overtime loss to the Laker’s.

Task 30 – Rosalina's Kitchen (Worcester, MA)

(30) Eat in 10 New Restaurants (25/20)

Restaurant: Rosalina's Kitchen

Rating:         5-stars

My friend Chris and I were starving but tired of the same ole places and we really wanted to try something new. We decided on Rosalina’s Kitchen after several recommendations by friends. We had never tried it because it is on the other side of the city from where we both live and there isn’t really any reason to go to Grafton Hill.

When we arrived a group was just leaving and as they passed us I overheard them talking about how good the food was. The entryway has one of those entrance curtains which many of you know I am not a fan. Good news is rather then feeling like I walked right into a dirty dingy rag all I could smell was the scent of fresh home cooked Italian goodness. The place was packed with only 1 table available and almost immediately there was another group behind us.

We were seated promptly by the host and told our waitress would be with us shortly. I took the opportunity to start looking over the menu and immediately I saw three or four things that sounded delicious. The host returned with some homemade seasoned focaccia and when I asked for her opinion on a dinner selection she recommended the Ricotta Puff’s.
The Ricotta Puff’s at $16.95 are described as “An exquisite entrée served exclusively at Rosalina’s Kitchen. Fried, savory ricotta puffs on eggplant served on top of a light broth of diced tomatoes, fresh basil and gemelli pasta.”

Let me just tell you that the description doesn’t do this entrée justice. The savory ricotta puffs with their lightly fried shell melt in your mouth. The eggplant was as tender and tasty as any I have ever had and it to melts in my mouth. The light broth/sauce was a burst of flavor. You could taste the fresh garlic and basil and it was balanced perfectly by the gemelli pasta. It was the perfect size and I left satisfied but not over stuffed.

I passed on the deserts as I will admit I couldn’t have eaten another bite but they sounded and looked as delicious as my meal was. I will definitely be back for more.
